Snow Day!!!!!!!

Isn't that funny?? Just after writing about snow days. WE GET A SNOW DAY!!! It started off as a 2 hour delay. My car was warming up and right when I was about to leave, "Washington Local:CLOSED" went across my screen. I screamed and told Aaron he better check to make sure he saw the same thing that I saw. When we have a 2 hour delay, the teachers still have to report at the normal time so they finally closed at 7:40. Hallelujah!! I already have a to-do list of stuff I can do today. We'll see how productive I am! Amen for snow!!

Almost February

Hi- It's amazing to me that it's already February. Where did the whole month of January go? We still haven't had any 2 hour delays or snow days for the entire "winter season". If there does happen to be a snow day, I still have to "work" which would mean reporting to a Harbor site and sitting around all day. So, I usually would take a "vacation" day, but it doesn't matter to me. I just enjoy the day off. But, it doesn't look like one of those will be happening anytime soon. So, what else is up in the life of the Stott's? Aaron is in need of work again. Or direction. The feat of opening up his own business has put us in quite a lot of debt. With business being unpredictable, it's hard to pay it off. So, he's once again in the quandry of getting a part-time job or waiting for work to come his way. He knows he has work once March comes around, but February is another story. Please pray for him...that he would have guidance and direction and that God would bless the work of his hands. I'm enjoying my job which is a blessing. One of the best parts of it, is that this is my 3rd school year with the same batch of kids. I've developed some great relationships with them, and I truly enjoy their company. I only work with 4 girls out of the 36 kids I work with. I've been giving out old trophies to the kids as incentives. If they receive 15 point sheets (a daily behavior chart) of 95% or higher, they earn a trophy. They LOVE working toward a trophy. A teacher's aide friend had given me a whole box of old motorcross bike trophies that her son had earned growing up. They were in her attic and she didn't know what to do with them. The sad part, was that a few years ago, her son died in a car accident. I'm sure it was hard for her to part with them, but the kids are sooo enjoying them now. A Snowy day

Well, I started my morning anxiously watching the delays and closings. Last night the lovely weatherman had issued freezing rain warning until 7 am this morning. That would've been perfect for a delay...if the freezing rain was actually happening until 7. Needless to say, we were all here at school today on time. It seems as if I had quite a busy weekend. On Friday night, I made homemade chicken noodle soup. On Saturday, I taught dance and went grocery shopping. I saved 70% at Giant Eagle. Wahoo! The joy of coupons. (Not only do I LOVE cutting coupons, I especially like getting stuff for free with coupons. For example, if breakfast bars are on sale for $2, and I have a $1 off coupon that is doubled, then I get them for FREE). How can you say no to that?!!) Sorry for my coupon tangent... So the rest of Saturday was spent preparing to teach 3-5 year old School of the Bible class and preparing for Jesus Is Alive auditions. Auditions were from 1:30-5:00 yesterday. It's always an enlightening experience. It's awesome when people surprise you with their talent. If someone auditioning makes me giggle,(while they're singing or dancing) that's an especially good sign. So, now I'm back to work. On Wednesday night we have more auditions. Hopefully we'll have plenty of talent to choose from. Well, have a great weekend and let's all hope for a snow day before the winter is through!! :)

Long weekend

Hi- I'm a whole day late in posting due to our long weekend. It was so nice. On Friday night, we went out to eat at Big Boy and then went and got movies. We watched "Invincible." It was okay. It was a football movie. On Saturday, I taught dance and went grocery shopping. On Sunday, we went to church, watched football, and took naps. Yesterday, I finished my "to-do" list and went shopping with my Mom. I love shopping for good deals. So, I'm back to work today. Auditions for the play start this Sunday. We're really lacking with the amount of people signed up for the play. Rob Starr (the director) has such good ideas for the play and I hope we get enough guys to make it happen. Well, I can't think of much else going on. I guess this is my last week of freedom before "Jesus Is Alive" starts. I'm truly enjoying it. Love, Missy

8 days into January

Hi- What a day. It's Monday. The day I like to write here on this blog. I found out this morning that one of the teachers that I work with who has been trying to get pregnant for as long as I have, is pregnant. It's so hard to be happy for her, yet at the same time try not to question God. It's so hard to trust in His will and His timing. I really want my baby and pregnancy to be to God's glory. I want to get pregnant by HIS divine intervention alone. I don't want to have to attribute it to a certain medicine or shot or any of that. I know that God has a plan for me. It's just hard on days like this. I pray that the joy of the Lord will be my strength. Thinking of all the hardship that people all around me are going through, makes my struggle seem so small. Oh how I desire to be a mother. I just have to wait for God's timing before being able to achieve that calling. Lord, help me to be joyful always, pray continually, and give thanks in all circumstances. For this is God's will for me in Christ Jesus. Have a good day! Missy
