Random facts...

Hi- To start, I have to do this random facts post. Craig tagged me in this blog war of random facts so I have to post these rules and then list my facts. If you read my blog and haven't done this yet, it's fun to try.

1. I have to post these rules before I give you the facts.
2. Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
3. People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
4. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
5. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

My random facts/habits:

1. Every morning for breakfast I have cereal or oatmeal, a small glass of milk, and toast with peanut butter or jelly. When I was young, my Mom would put my toast through the toasting cycle twice so it would get burnt...then put so much Blue Bonnet margarine on it that it pooled in the middle of my black toast. Yum...those were the good old days.

2. I just won a contest on hearitfirst.com. I was the grand prize winner of the Mandisa contest. I won a $150 itunes gift card and $50 in Mandisa merchandise. Yippeeee! Hearitfirst.com is a website that publicizes Christian artists that are releasing new albums. The problem...I don't have an IPOD...yet!!

3. I love websites on the internet where you earn free points for reading e-mails. I've done mypoints.com for forever now, and about once a year, I can cash in the points for a $50 gift certificate. I usually get one for Home Depot to give to Aaron for his birthday.

4. Aaron and I lived in a farmhouse when we were first married with a barn and horse pasture out our window. I don't even like horses...but the view sure was pretty.

5. When I auditioned for my first play at age 5, I didn't make it because I didn't sing loud enough. I've been singing loud ever since. :)

6. I played soccer for 7 years as a child. I don't even like sports and I hate running. I would stand in my position as middle fullback and kick the ball real hard if it came to me. If the ball was on the other end of the field, I could be found dancing, doing cartwheels or not paying attention.

7. When I was a senior in high school, I was teaching dance at the studio where I took lessons. The 3-4 year old class was doing "Be My Little Baby Bumblebee" for the recital. To ensure that they wouldn't forget their dance, I had to dress up like a bumblebee for the recital complete with a yellow turtleneck and black ballet skirt...a magic wand, and antennae. I danced around with them and patted them on the head with my magic wand. It was quite a sight to see!

8. I rotate between the following channels when I'm listening to the radio in the car: 89.3 YES-FM, 96.9 K-LOVE, 103.5 The Light, 102.3, 105.5 (rarely), and 1370 WSPD. I love winning contests on the radio. I haven't won in a long time. Once I called in and won at YES-FM while I was driving a van full of kids for the summer program. I got to explain about how I won 2 CD's....1 to keep, and 1 to give away. I told the kids I was giving it to Miss Amy, a co-worker at the summer program.

So....those are officially my random facts. Feel free to post your random facts too. It would be quite interesting. I survived my first 2 days at the summer program. Yesterday went remarkably well. Today there were a few irritable kids that tried to get into a fight, but it was okay. Happy 80th Birthday to my Gramma tomorrow! We're doing a work day for her at her house! I pray that she's encouraged by it and feels the love in it! Have a good weekend! Missy :)

Almost done...

Well...school is almost out. Next Tuesday is our last day. It's amazing how fast this school year has flown by. I start at the summer program next Thursday. Pray for me as I'm a missionary to the severe behavior kids of the Toledo area this summer. I thought if I think of my job as a ministry, maybe it'll be more tolerable. I'm not fearing it as much as I did last year. Around this time last year is when I had an anxiety attack because of worrying about the summer (and other stuff too). There's not much going on in our lives. This weekend we're having lunch with one of my college roommates. I haven't seen her in forever. It will be really nice to see her. One of the classes of kids that I work with is putting on 2 plays for the end of the year. We have masks, props, and even a microphone. The kids have done really well learning their lines. I hope it goes well! Well, the kids are about to show up, so I should go. Sorry it's a boring post. Have a happy hot sweltering day! Missy
